The Guarantee’s WICC National Sponsorship Demonstrates Resilient Fight Against Cancer
The Guarantee Company of North America (The Guarantee) joins the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) for another three-year term as a National Platinum Sponsor. The Guarantee’s continued partnership with WICC demonstrates solidarity with other members of the P&C insurance industry in the fight against cancer.
“The Guarantee is proud to be a WICC National Platinum Sponsor and join like-minded advocates in the community to help fund cancer research, as well as raise awareness through initiatives with their long-standing partner, the Canadian Cancer Society,” says Richard Pouliot, National VP, Operations and Distribution Management at The Guarantee. “Our employees have been long-time WICC supporters and volunteers through local chapter events, and our continued sponsorship is a logical extension of our support.”
In June, The Guarantee took part in the WICC Relay for Life event as relay team participants and as the Kids Zone activity sponsor. Marilyn Horrick, National VP of GUARANTEE GOLD® – The Guarantee’s high net worth line of business – and WICC’s Ontario Board Co-Chair says: “Relay For Life is an inspiring experience and one that brings friends, family and co-workers together to raise research dollars as well as celebrate the courage of survivors. This year’s event was memorable on so many fronts – from torrential downpours to record-breaking results. I am so proud to be part of a company and industry that unites in the face of challenge with a dedicated spirit to supporting their communities and help fight cancer.”
Since the inception of WICC in 1996, with the help of the entire insurance industry and its supporters, over $13,700,000 has been raised in support of cancer research and education. This has been achieved from industry support at a variety of WICC functions, including dinners, learning breakfasts, concerts, relays, golf tournaments, as well as the purchase of WICC candles, CDs and other products. In addition, numerous individuals, companies and associations within and related to the insurance industry have held or sponsored events specifically to raise funds for WICC or directed the proceeds of their annual events to WICC.
